A Mere Crescent Poem by Kayla Clark

A Mere Crescent

The moon rises for it's shift
Casting an eerie glow
Offering it's timeless gift
To the expectant earth below

A beautiful pair
Orchestral and divine
The atmosphere observes with care
As the heavenly bodies align

The moon is eloquent
Enticing the earth with becoming speeches
The earth basks in the lovely string of melodies, quite elegant
Misled, the earth reaches

The moon recoils, despising the earth's affection
Brilliance shatters, evanescent
The naive earth, assuming a connection
As the moon retreats, a mere crescent
