A Love For A Lifetime Poem by Susan Oxford

A Love For A Lifetime

Rating: 5.0

From the start it was meant to be
A love of a lifetime, you and me.

Young and free, our cares were few
We planned with hope things we might do.

Those hopes and dreams were stored away
As life grew busier day by day.

Children brought joy to many years
Along with pride, worry and tears.

Alone again in our empty nest
Our faith in each other we both would test.

We knew the love in our mind and heart
Our path together would never part.

Now a stronger love could never be
Our love for a lifetime, you and me.
