A Lions Tale Poem by Eric Bult

A Lions Tale

The powerful male of one great lion pair
Now sulks apart from his adored mate.
But not for long, she soon returns with air
Of proud achievement and, with loving prate,
Drops her kill before him, then she licks
His mouth to savour his delight once moere.
She is no stranger to his powerful kicks
That now and then he digs into the floor
Of this, he knows to be, his final lair.
And when at night he sees the stars so bright
He somehow knows that this fine loving pair
Cannot be separated by the night.

Does this my tale not ring within your mind
A strange yet lovely story of our kind?
