A Journey Of A Thousand Miles Poem by Daniel P Martin

A Journey Of A Thousand Miles

Rating: 5.0

Live not in blame,
Live up to your name,
Put the human back in humanity,
Exist in words of love and peace,
And not of hate and profanity.

A fleeting glance,
A second chance,
To dispel the modern day stigma,
Swim hard against the surging tide,
Be a contemporary enigma.

Resist the dash,
The hunt for cash,
The pursuit of the latter-day prophet,
Watch the wheels of the money-go-round,
And plot your journey off-it.

And so contrive,
Man-kind to revive,
Of this I do implore,
A voyage to begin, by looking within
A Human soul to restore,

Though I sound dramatic,
I’m truly pragmatic,
My words are of course symbolic,
But he who has neither dream nor hope,
Is destined to be melancholic.

This is a good one. The words sound so friendly, but it cuts like a knive if the shoe fits.
