A Hidden Girl Poem by Uriah Hamilton

A Hidden Girl

Rating: 4.8

Afraid of seeing herself,
She hides from the sunlight,
Avoids mirrors, lingers in shadows,
And only walks the streets after midnight.

She has a pretty face,
Any young man would like to kiss her,
Sing to her from the heart
Frank Sinatra-like.

She has a melancholy disposition,
And lives in a secret world of fear.
Youth vanishes in the blink of an eye
And hers’ may disappear
Before anyone ever knows
She was ever here.

Perhaps a more contemporary definition of the proverbial Wall Flower & very eloquently detailed & constructed by a very talented quiller... F.J.R.

Uriah, this one reminds me of Laura in Tennessee Williams' the Glass Menagerie. So painfully shy that she hides from life with her flat chest and her built up boot. A sad and beautifully drawn portrait of fear and loneliness. love, Allie xxxx
