A Dream Unwelcome Poem by Aaron Finkel

A Dream Unwelcome

To dream…
To dream a dream of happiness.
To dream a dream of truth.
To dream of sailing on the blue.
Is to let go the fetters
Glide like a bird, whose dreams come quickly and fade even faster
A flight obscured in a toxic mist
Above an unwelcoming habitat
A nebulous limbo of fantasy
Intertwined with beams of light
and pursuits never pursued
A passionate sonata of freedom,
Sung to the displeasure of the surroundings
To dream a dream of paradise
Is to dream a dream of utopia
Is it possible to dream a dream this dream-worthy?
I think not.
Is it a crime to attempt such a feat?
It is a crime un-punished,
Yet never overlooked
More like an inevitable desire,
A sin
A dream is taboo these days.
For someone already has one, and two can’t play at this game.
