A Dalit Girl, What To Say About? Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

A Dalit Girl, What To Say About?

She has just a small straw-thatched
Muddy house to live in,
The floor with date-leaf mat
To sleep on
Without any light,
No food for two times,
Nothing to dress-up, make-up,
The goats and ducks too live with
On the verandah at a corner
And the house so congested and dark
Leaking badly during rainy season
