A Christmas Prayer Poem by David Harris

A Christmas Prayer

Rating: 5.0

Dear Lord in the heavens above
please hear my prayer today.
On the day of the birth of your son Jesus Christ.
Could you guide the men of war
from every religion to take a respite from killing,
let us have one day of the year
when no one will shed the blood of another.
Will you send your millions of angels
to see that this is done,
so that no one will hear the sound of a gun?
Let there be peace everywhere on this earth I pray.
That we may wake up and celebrate Christmas
in the knowledge no one will die.
I also ask that those with good hearts
share what they have
with those who have nothing.
Those with no shelter
may they find somewhere that is warm.
May the love of the many
help take away the sadness
of those who are suffering.
Dear Lord I offer up to you this Christmas prayer
on the Sunday before Christmas day.

Amen

This is a beautiful prayer, David, but I think we should not wait for one particular day to ask for peace in this world. Let's pray for peace EVERY day. There is a site online that held a solstice prayer for peace at exactly 6: 08 world time, which was the exact moment of the beginning of the winter solstice. It was to amass incredible amounts of prayer energy, enough to raise the level of consciousness around the world at one time, in an effort to set peace in motion. I hope it had some effect on the overall mindset of the world. Peace to you and yours.................. Linda :) xxx

GREAT David Harris. 'one Angel of God is simply enough to stop a raging war! ' Christmas is a time of joy and peace for the whole year through, and not just a lull in the killings! May the Almighty God work His miracles in the minds of all leaders of various nations to envisage the advantages of PEACE and give up wars forever! Happy Christmas to you and your dear ones! regards, dr john celes
