A Clown Poem by David Harris

A Clown

I am unconsciously a clown
correcting some upside down smiles
bringing into sad lives
a little bit of hilarity.
I don’t do it deliberately
or consciously for that matter.
It is just a natural thing
that continually happens to me.
I must have been born
with a funny bone somewhere
that makes people laugh
whenever I am around,
it even happens when
my face is on the ground,
so all I can say is that
I must have been born a clown.
