A Boxer I Am Poem by Randy McClave

A Boxer I Am

I am a boxer, I'm afraid of no man
Against any enemy I will staunchly stand,
I need no weapon at my hips
Because, at my side I always have my two fists.
I am no coward, so I never need a gun
From no one will I ever turn tail and run,
I never carry a weapon at my side
And because of no one will I ever cower or hide.
I am a boxer, I am no coward
From my training and boxing and skills I am empowered
There is no place that I am ever afraid to go
To me it's Just another event and show.
If you wanna fight me, I am ready
I am always calm and collective and steady
I won't push you or kick you or wrestle
Nor will I stab you or shoot you to send you to the Devil.
I am a boxer until the day that I die
Only then on my back will you ever see me lie
I need no guns or weapons to protect my family or myself
Because, I am a boxer and I have my two fists for help.
