8 Minutes And 46 Seconds Out Of Breath Poem by Hebert Logerie

8 Minutes And 46 Seconds Out Of Breath

For eight minutes and forty six seconds, George Floyd
Could not breathe. Brother George's was strangled
Because the knees of the cop was on top of his neck
While being already handcuffed on the bloody street
What an act of cowardice and arrogance by this creep
By this criminal whose duty was to serve and protect
For eight minutes and forty six seconds, our brother
Couldn't breathe, being hurt and calling for his mother
When the ambulance came Brother George was gone
Our friend had passed away; his life was taken, stolen
From him. Black lives matter. We can't breathe, we're
Dying. Brother George Floyd was lynched by a bad thug
Black lives matter. The entire world is upset, our dear
Brother was lynched in broad daylight. Without a last hug
A last handshake, George Floyd was stolen from his family
From his relatives, his friends, his buddies and his country
We can't breathe too. We'll fight for all the victims of violence
To get justice. May George rest in the arms of the Providence.
