167. If I Ever Win Big On The Lotto Poem by Jaden Knight

167. If I Ever Win Big On The Lotto

If I ever win big on the lotto
or am given a large sum
by an anonymous but crazy billionaire
I know exactly what I would do with it all
got a plan for every penny
not that I expect you to believe it

A decent sum would go to each of my true friends
the ones who never gave up on me
always willing to help me up when I get knocked
yet never expecting a reward for doing so
I'd help them in my own little way
they'd be in the green for life

A nice amount I'd keep for myself
just to make sure my future family is set
obviously they would have to earn their own also
I'm not just going to hand them the easy life

I wouldn't give any to charities
because I know just how much they waste
I'd rather get out there and donate my time
helping people not with coin but with skin
it may not be to every one's taste
but it's more my style for sure

Maybe I'll never win big on the lotto
and maybe I'll not be handed a big sum
that will not stop me from helping those
who I really care about
or even those ones who I feel are in desperate need

i like it. here is my address. please send small bills. as for waste by charities, i suppose it happens. and outright thievery at times. but humans are humans, and when my boss (at home) complains about charity CEOs or Presidents getting a six figure salary, i think to myself, perhaps they earn it by raising lots of money which would not be raised otherwise. and when a mailed appeal arrives with a nickel or seven cents glued to the letter and sometimes showing through the envelope's window, or when charities send stickers, note pads, calendars, etc. as gifts to prospective (perhaps past) donors, i think such things may make people feel guilty if they don't send 'something', so perhaps the ends justify the means. PLUS, the post office profits, and, being a postal retiree, i see my annuity continuing a little longer! it is nice [very, very nice] to give skin, but i'd bet you/we could find some charity, big or little, which we could feel comfortable about giving cash. perhaps cash and skin! i give a little of both. thanks Profanisaurus. don't forget your PH friend, Bri! don't lose my address. send BEFORE i die! bri :)
