I was never one for housework, nay,
Not me, Goodness gracious, ME? No way!

Every day, traveling deeper into the black hole of a torment,
Fear and confusion,
Wondering what is real and what is not, while dreading what to come.

Change is all around, in the town, city, and land,
Shall I too bury my head like the ostrich in the sand?
Or shall I rise from the ashes
like the phoenix fresh and new?
