as indigo blue turned to crimson, it gave
the sun rising over the oak forest's flank.

Why do humans fight their own kind?
Why do humans destroy their own home?
Why can humans be so unkind?
Why do humans hunt those who roam?

People think that the heart of the mountain is gold
or silver, or precious metals
but the heart of the mountain is clever and bold
and it loves beautiful things like leaves and petals
