Johann Graham Poems

So my shadow burns.
The smoke cuts through the sky.
It cuts an angel
and the angel cries.
...

She waits for me patiently
drumming her slender fingers
upon her cheek.
While the stars dance for me
...

I have planted my hatred beneath this soil
where my weeds will grow and my vines will coil
with hopes that you stumble along its path
and feel the full brunt of my wrath
...

She has said all her prayers, father.
You have heard them all before.
Now you see a silent daughter.
Shut her eyes and let her go.
...

A room of empty picture frames
is shunned behind a locked door.
Rotting and stained windowpanes
lead the sunlight to the floor.
...

Pacified are the monsters in my mind.
Blasphemous their names, dreadful their faces.
Hope for eternity they should hide,
never burst charging from my beating chest!
...

A fiendish odor seeps through loose soil,
escapes from a sad atrocity.
The bright moon lights this silent turmoil
from a lost love sleeping quietly.
...

8.

I saw you in the organized stars,
leave out the sun, moon and Earth.
I saw your chapel and your altar.
Sung your song in my birth.
...

I am your poems, your ideas.
I am the words in your mind.
I am the pen in your fingers
crawling from inside.
...

Movement in the grass.
Sweet beauty cries.
Poison runs fast.
Sweet beauty dies.
...

The ghost of the son sits
beside the sleeping mother.
Kisses her on the cheek
embraces her while she slumbers
...

12.

The longest fall brings
the quickest death.
Darkness caused by
blinding light.
...

Horrors of horrors,
this deity be ill.
Rape of a virgin
and a heart frozen still.

Of Angels And Shadows

So my shadow burns.
The smoke cuts through the sky.
It cuts an angel
and the angel cries.
Her blood drips down, down,
down to the ground.
Her blood drips down, down,
down where I am found.
She glides down to me
and sees my face.
Says 'How could you be
such a disgrace? '
I said ' I am sorry,
is there anything I can do?
Can you ever forgive me
for what I have done to you? '
She gives me a new shadow
and flies back to Heaven.
So I picked up my shadow
to burn it again.
