Francis Wanyiri Poems

Faith against distrust
Disbelief meets mistrust
But when such clashes find a common enemy
Then 'virtues' of lies are embraced
...

Nerves shiver, it is just a call
Even when speaking, still missing
Encounter feelings
A painful passion
...

Intrigued of personality
Ashamed of my iniquities
amidst all these imperfections
I long for perfections
...

If you were to choose
between known and unknown
would you pick the unknown
and be the first to know
...

5.

Today! Tonight it's about touch but not too much
lest you catch a cold of the heart
when you detach after the test-match
But if you do too much, stretch touch to the heart
...

There is red in her lips
And the very light of brown
Clothed in white and black.
Still can see light skin blend her dark
...

How do I hide this letter from all eyes but yours
Yet put it out for all to know it is meant for you
to endure the thought that it'll softly compel comprehension
but still endeavor to direct your attention to our special connection
...

If I can have one night
of limitless light
and loudest silence
with my spirit in sight
...

Kenya under Kenyatta under attack...
Just turned fifty, way after forty with barely any fortress
Not that ever we've never bled this much
Today fifty, before one, we bled from blades and bullets
...

I wonder why people party so crazily
Mindlessly drink and recklessly drunk
They say 'to release stress infuse drink'
An acceptable cause of loss I think
...

The times I will remember
Lasted a while and hard to crack
Was a test that suppressed my best
Worst viciously fierce on my neck
...

life in halves
live in pulses
leave without say
count each day
...

The Laws Of Lies...

Faith against distrust
Disbelief meets mistrust
But when such clashes find a common enemy
Then 'virtues' of lies are embraced
A lie for a lie
To keep a friend...

Until you realize it isn't intact
Special friends become distanced friends
Standoffs, second thoughts and second chances.
But with belittled faith
We all know the drill.
You become a cautious self

Holding onto the truth becomes unbearable
Strained anger in the name of patience
No! I meant impatience
The game is on...
In hope to counter a lie
Yes! a lie for the lie the taken.
Don't forget the drill.

The truth ingeniously omitted.
lies cunningly submitted.
so they mumble in consolation
failure to admit the truth isn't lying
or lets just say it's hidden truth.
Yet nursing impatiently for the untold truth.
That moment will never come
It is better to remain calm
To reduce much harm
For self affliction hurts

And as the vices perpetuate
Omissions penetrate
Pillars of trust broken down
Ethics and ideologies skewed to survive
Take care of one another in disguise
This is not about politics
It is about life
Different laws for the same crime
or many crimes for the same law
take whichever you like
for so are the laws of lies ...
