It Was A Time Poem by Francis Wanyiri

It Was A Time

The times I will remember
Lasted a while and hard to crack
Was a test that suppressed my best
Worst viciously fierce on my neck
I felt it was time to surrender

It was a time I remember
Everything I tried backfired
Much pressure on my neck, it was fire
Great expectations, great deviations
I was buried under, too late to surrender

It was a time I tried,
I tried to try to make it once more
To design the masterpiece I know
or analyze critically but no
It was a difficult time in a defeated war

It was a time, of solitary silence
could hear the clock clicking
i lay on my bed thinking
how i found myself losing
none of my efforts working
am here worrying of breaking...

It was a time, in wilderness
It was a while in the wild of wilderness
I tried to fly but was dry of wings
Thirst for success but was out of reach
what I had was dryness within, in to itch
Down drenched dying, couldn't move an inch

I remember that time
My mind ran mad
Saddened by madness it was sad
I was torn apart then left in wild sand

It was a time, was broke
I ran out of cash
Got ran over by debts
Dreams outran my reality
Definitely time to run nowhere...

It was a time of loss
It was a while i lost
It was a time to watch
It was a while i thought

I remember
It was a time
