Elizabeth Fletcher Poems

1.

Life hurts.
Death hurts.
Is there any in between?
...

'I know him', is what I thought.
My heart burns as if shot.
All he ever brought was pain,
But I would pray that he came
...

You made me out as a fool!
I want to feel irate...
I want to treat you like a tool.
But it's too late.
...

Why can't you two shut-up? ! ? !
I can hear you!
Stop treating eachother
Like you're worth less
...

Among a sea of pain I stand
All alone and knowing no one will hold my hand
The tide begins to quickly rise
I can feel that soon my sorrow will cover my eyes
...

My heart is heavy.
There goes the levy
That shared the weight
Of all my pain and hate.
...

You see my sweet tears as they fall from my eyes.
You hear the shaking in my voice as I lie.
You know my words are empty of all truth.
You beg for honesty so you beg me for proof.
...

Emily Dickinson once claimed
That hope was like a creature with wings,
And it continues to sing
Even through great despair. Fear hope tamed.
...

Life is fleeting...
Strife is greeting
Us at our doors.
Knees tremble and hit the floors
...

With all my heart and Soul
I still love you and can't seem to let you go.
You were there for me through it all
But there was nothing I could do but watch you fall.
...

11.

You seem so far away
And it has only been three days.
My heart aches for your love,
And my lips for your touch.
...

The moon and the stars
Shinning brightly as ever
Reflect the love in my eyes
Yours filled with nothing but lies
...

Take a step into the light
Just follow my voice
I swear to you it will be alright
Listen to the melody
...

I'm afraid
Of the love that you show
And the love I feel for you
It's so pure and true
...

Have you ever felt
As though you are on the outside looking in?
When life is so frail?
So thin?
...

16.

If I could cry for you I would
But I can't
My heart is cold
From the pain that is untold
...

So many things I wish I could say to you
But so many things you can't undo
Why waste my time with something that doesn't feel right
When I could be feeling my way into the light
...

Just hold me close to your chest
Let me listen to your heartbeat
That is within you breast
Let me cry the tears
...

The Best Poem Of Elizabeth Fletcher

Pain

Life hurts.
Death hurts.
Is there any in between?

I can feel myself slipping...
Feel me breaking
At the seams.

Just promise me there is a place
Where the world is finally clean,
And I can't feel anything.
