The Meaning of Being a Man

Extremely thirsty,
He ignored the song of the Nightingale
Near an oasis
When he was crossing the hot desert
As he wanted to swallow
The ambrosial dropp of his success.
But every time the desert was expanded
When he was about to cross it.

Absolutely bored,
He did not enjoy the sweet voice of the cuckoo bird
As he wanted to bring spring
Through the songs in the praise of God.
But his boredom was prolonged
When he was compelled to sing
The same song again.

Terribly tired,
He kept on moving
Even when the laden trees stopped him
As he wanted to eat
The sweetest fruit of his labour.
But his tireness increased
When the fruit of his labour was lost.

Unbearably pained,
He kept on working hard
After every undeserved failure
Even when the dishonest criticism
Striked his wounded heart
As he had to keep some promises.
But his pain was enhanced
When the nature could not keep her promise.

Despite all barriers,
He will not stop.
Extremely realistically,
He keeps on working in the severe cold.
There is no problem
If all hibernate
He knows how to live alone.

O Almighty! You have
Filled his days with misery.
But he can’t surrender.
He will cry as Lear cried,
Console himself as Shelley consoled,
And sail to the palace of his dream.
The skeleton of his determination
Is still unhurt. He will strive again,
And there is nothing that can stop him.
He will prove the meaning of being a man.
