Know It And Do It Poem by DEVENDER SINGH

Know It And Do It

More desires, more problems
And even an endless fear.
Desires never meet problems,
But they are equal and opposite.
They come together,
Live together, and work together.
Our saints say that man is selfish,
He cannot control his desires.
Ask them the way of controlling the actions,
They tell to change the thought.
Thought! Can we change it?
Yes, by application of intellect.
Control the mind and avoid unnecessary thought.
My God! Stream of thought,
So difficult to control
As the blowing of air.

What is liberation?
Mind’s activeness or idleness.
Many of us reply activeness
As it suggests the way for it.
Yes, of course, movement is life
And idleness is death.
More activeness more attachment,
And more we need worldly knowledge.
Mind is faithful to the declining world,
It dislikes eternity and firmness.
Novelty and changes delight,
Logic strengthens and powers it.
Does faith require logic and knowledge?
This question is disturbing.
Man’s existence and survival
Needs mind, logic, knowledge, and strength
Think now. Are you free or caught?

What is knowledge?
One that depends on logic,
Or the other that has been experienced.
Experience will be the answer,
As it is greater than logic.
Soul accepts no logic.
It gathers experience,
For its enlightenment.
Mind is cunning, but soul is simple.
Faith needs no logic,
But a candid soul to stay.
Soul is the part of God,
And its liberation is the only goal,
One who knows it knows the whole.
Man’s duty is to search, recognize,
And empower the soul.
Its empowerment will stop his fall.
Know it and do it. That’s all.
