I Know I Am A Man

But I cry
Sometimes for no reason at all
But I worry
For no reason at all
I stay with you
For no reason other than the fact that I love
The thought of us being separate
Makes my heart beat faster and faster and faster
I go to my quiet place
As I was taught year and years and years
I go
My grandma “NANA”
So much time has passed
But I still cry
I am a man and I know
Men aren’t suppose to cry
But you die, and it hurts so bad
I called you by your name Maurice Bland
But you were my dad
I cried as time passed but I hurt so bad
It hurts so bad but I am a man and I will stand
Time changes everything knowledge is gain but pain remains
You see all scars are not healed even if you are over the hill
You still remember
Being the man that I am
I know I know that letting go is harder than it sounds
Pain resonates and resounds in my soul
Giving me the ambition to reach my goal
To be better than the ones before me
Being a man I was taught to teach when I am taught
I know I am not suppose to cry but being a man
I have learned that it is alright
I have learned that I have learned that I have learned that it is alright
I ‘m a man and I know I'm not suppose to cry but how can you live without feeling
But how can you live as a man without knowing that it’s alright to cry
