I stand in this plain
Bright after the storm
Glistening with life,
Feeling soft and warm.

In a time when sense gives way,
In a life fighting outrage everyday,
Know the value, not the price.
Learn the virtue, leave the vice.
...

When mist falls, sight blurs grey,
When focus on things simply goes astray,
Thoughts on the mind’s canvas fade,
Emanating from nowhere, me you serenade…
...

Ask thee not, dear child, eternal bliss,
For thou art not celestial, so high and free!
Ask for trials, dare thee dangers to seek and kiss,
For thou art a ship caught in an angry sea!

O fair dame! My partner for life,
A stranger you were, who became my wife!
Looking back, years aplenty since that day,
Bedecked with wonders, lies our trodden way!

Sometimes all Seems Lost,
Sometimes it all just goes well!
But Life, O seductress Fair,
What sweet, White lies you tell!

After The Storm

I stand in this plain
Bright after the storm
Glistening with life,
Feeling soft and warm.

The dust has settled,
and all is calm.
Seeds will be sown, and
In the desert will rise a palm!

I feel a cool breeze,
the harbinger of a change,
saying here comes a time,
whence life’ll rearrange!

This new path will,
see all wounds healed,
that have stained me
with blood congealed.

Though on this path,
I’ve seen flowers, but only a few.
At the end there waits,
I believe, a whole garden new!

Strength I may’ve lost,
In ordeals long past.
But hope refills it anew,
and forever it’ll now last!

Hungry I am now,
for something to do.
So off I go on my path,
and you will do so too!

Life has its own bits
Of joy and pain.
But know that after each night,
a sun will rise again!

Fare thee well, ye
who tread this path!
May the future carve out
for you, your own swath!
