Tortured we have been
Still we rise
Unrelenting we stand

Fill up my mug barman
let the beer roar, let it foam
as it rises to the brim.
A criminally cold bottle for me
...

A peck in the morning, a rose at noon
Kisses at night by the light of the moon
As we dance all through the evening
We float on the chords with me beaming
...

A mixed feeling of happiness and melancholy
Gently creates a smile
As we sit and trace some misplaced
Joyous moments in our lives

We are constantly swimming
against the timeless waves of poverty
Trying to stay afloat
In the depths of perpetual
