Melancholy Poem by Toyo Esuola

Melancholy

The reality of life unfolds with age
The destiny of men manifests with time
In between these eras, sacrifices we make bites.
Responsibilities start to multiply;
For the life we live
dictates the price we pay

The intimate search of inner peace
The relentless pursuit of happiness
The race for personal success

Then thoughts of mortality surfaces
Because no one lives forever
And no one can see the future

The fear of death arrives
Man then tries to repent
But forever lies the mystery
Where do we go after death?
