We hate the world we're born into
We'll never understand
How people of the world
Can kill their children's land

How dare you come back into my life
After it's been so long
You'd have to be such a fool
Not to know what you did wrong
...

People always leave
And some never return
If they 'grace' us with their presence
They say it's something we've earned
...

You sneak a glance when none will see
But just one is all it takes
There's no way to raise the stakes
If you're looking to hook me

I knew he'd never give me the time of day
So imagine my surprise when he looked my way
He took my breath away with just that smile
Just to see it again I'd gladly swim the Nile
