The Best Things In Life Poem by Francis Duggan

The Best Things In Life

White butterflies flit in the sunshine and birds chirp and sing on bush and tree
The best things do not cost you money the best things in life come for free
And some cannot seem to be happy though they have got money to spare
But despite that they cannot seem to smile and they do seem burdened by care.

The beauty i see all around me will live on in my memory
And beauty is in the eye of the beholder that always does seem true to me
We owe our existence to Nature without Nature we'd not be here
And Nature outlives her four Seasons and she does not age by the year.

The dream of an Earthly Utopia it is such a beautiful dream
To watch the fish in the bright sunshine swim in the clear pool of the stream
In a place that is free of pollution one can breathe in unpolluted air
In a place that is healthy to live in one might say such places are rare.

The day one might say rather pleasant a tad over twenty degrees
The birds chirp and sing in the sunshine and butterflies dance in the breeze
And Nature she is at her finest and her beauty is lovely to see
The best things cannot be bought with money as the best things in life they are free.
