My Thanksgiving Poem by Marilyn Lott

My Thanksgiving

Rating: 5.0

When I was a little girl
Thanksgiving was about
Getting together with family
Delightful smells of my mother’s
Freshly baked rolls, crispy Turkey
And spicy pumpkin pies.
When I became a wife and mother
My little girl watched and helped as I did those
Very same things and filled my own house
With the smells of Thanksgiving.
I enjoyed my little boy coming into the kitchen
Thanksgiving morning and saying
“Where’s the cookin’? ”
But now, as my family
Including my precious grandchildren
Gather for this festive day
I realize how important...
How valuable this time is
How lucky I am to spend this day
With the people I love.
I am truly thankful and blessed!

Happy Thanksgiving!
