Lucky Girl Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Lucky Girl

Rating: 4.5

Lucky

Hug and talk
Kiss the air as if her

And I see the faces and your hair
And eyebrows; well plucked

And I hear rolling wheels
A handbag; she carries

And I read the Wigan and The Heart
Of darkness; when compared

And I write
“Maria, will you please? ”

And I think
Of Minoo, what she said, what it meant

And I fly between Hell and Heaven
They sure mean different to each lot

You’re lucky
Lucky ant on a leaf with a world of your own

While mine is round the globe-
Galaxies of God who may-be and may not

Lucky you
I’m jealous. You fill cups and I’ll pay for coffee
