Cold Outside Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Cold Outside

Rating: 3.5

Cold outside

Wonder if can trust
The lyrics of a song
Knowing of few parts
Being changed, taken out
Just to match with our time
And the men-women fight
On less or the more rights;
(Yesterday is censored.)

A song that was in film
Played by Dean Martin
Was about the cold and
Love or lust or romance.

Yes, it is "cold outside."

She thinks of facts of life
Of the time of the song
And the neighbours' gossip,
And parents, their worries
while looks deep in culture
And the maid, brother
On boy in company
Of young girl, enjoying
In absence of others…

But hashtag of "Me Too"
Which is site of today,
Sees girl's words as insult
Demands: "It must stop! "

What is this censorship?
Why can't we accept this?
Wasn't that fact of time?

Should we become blind
To truth, just because…?

Yes Baby, it is cold
For my poor naive heart;
It's freezing outside!
