Better Days Poem by JoAnn McGrath

Better Days

Rating: 5.0

They say you walk through life
with many hills and valleys
You stop to smell the roses
But should not dilly dally

A contradiction is my life
I'll never reach the summit
My steps maybe unsteady
one slip and I might plummet

I pray the straight and narrow path
would take me where I please
But all the while I slip and slide
Then land upon my knees

I might as well stay down there
and fold my hands to pray
Lord, I hope my life gets easier
So I can live to see better days
