Barcelona Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Barcelona

Barcelona

Their tears fall and fill
-my dimples

Streams and currents
-flow down on my cheeks

They are kids
-some, few, and scared

Being film director
-wish could teach my actors
-to act same

'Forget it…'
-I tell me and forget
- 'fact is fact and act, act! '

I look and travel
-leap in time
-magic is the man's dream
-see hunters with traps
-hooks and guns
-on horses
-in trench, or in huts
-and aiming like soldiers
-World War One
-and the 'Two'
-see fire in 'Polis'
-in Athens, Persia

On the run, in hiding
-are locals
-non-Persians
-non-Greeks
-non-Arabs
-non-Mongols
-the Chinese
-Japanese
-Blacks
-and Red-Skin

Sets sun in Britain
-talks of end
-sun moves to USA
-has no night
-her men rule world over
-see night comes
-right from its kernel

The Black is tired
-same it is with the Red

Statues
Monuments
And shootings
-in the church

Mocking Bird
-the wrong man arrested
-on tree and is burned; KKK

See Arabs and Islam
-then coming of El-Cid
- Isabella and the Jews on the run
-invasions and Incas

Blood baths
Everywhere to White House

I cry like the child
-children witnessing the truck
-the wounded and the dead in crowd
