in a crowd of people
faces blend together
forming one solid scowl

the days seem longer
in these empty rooms
the noise from outside
filters in
...

the cracked mirror
reflects a distorted picture
crying eyes
and bloated stomach
...

it surrounds you
swallows you whole
like the starless sky
it obstructs your airway
...

stars blanket the sky
giving light to darkness
then burn out and die
...

like a sunflower
its petals
bright
and hopeful
...

this pain is endless
stretching across
time
places
...

eyes
turn from blue
to grey
they fill
...

the hour hand flutters
lucidly in the night
the moon hangs low
low enough to touch
...

coasting through shades
of navy and lightest blue
the empty space around me
thickens
...
