Walking down the street,
Scared of so many reflections,
I am shallow by pain
And yes scared to see beyond what is apparent

I walked alone on a deserted road,
Though in a physical sense I was surrounded by eyes;
Those were judgmental,
Eyes that were scornful,

Today
One day, I’ll think about how mean this world is towards me.
One day, I’ll pause and reflect about all things which I deserved, but were snatched from me.
One day, I’ll ponder if the world would have been a beautiful place, if God had created mankind with no hearts…
One day, I’ll unravel the mystery why incompetent always make it to the top while deserving have to play second fiddles..
One day, I’ll curse God for making simpler things, difficult for me …
One day, I shall ponder why people towards whom I was caring and helpful, backstabbed me and were flag bearers in my march down the road.
One day, I’ll regret the hardwork I had put to succeed at the task but which was ridiculed and reduced to dust, by the society..
But not now
Not Today ….
Today there is work to be done.
Today there are deadlines to be met.
Today I have to look into the mirror and confirm that I’m an improved person since yesterday…
Today I have to note my mistakes and convert them into success.
Today I have to bear the humiliations as today I have to bear my responsibilities.
So today I’ll empty my heart of all emotions.
Today I won’t flinch if someone denigrates my knowledge,
Taunts my family, tears my efforts
And puts them on the showcase,
as an antique piece of invaluable garbage.
Maybe, one day, if I’ll be left with integrity, I’ll think……..
But Not Now.
