Your Swansong Poem by The MadLad

Your Swansong

Rating: 5.0

On this rufescent dawn of melancholy,
stay by my side, don't just leave me be.
And meandering along the nostalgic shores, let's summon
those bejeweled memories long begone.
When life was wild
and like the glory child
we wandered free,
through this dying city.

Let's laugh once more to old times,
drinking from the grail of holy wine,
And celebrate with zeal, our sins,
and how we sailed through thick and thin.

Let us bathe in the moon's shade,
the mystic stars shimmering overhead.
While our hearts in unison cry,
one last time, before the final goodbye.
Better yet,
let's spread our wings
and riding the high winds,
fly to Nowhere Land,
or to time's end.

Let's talk of our fears tonight -
of how we wither, out of sight.
Singing the song we sing alone,
holding hands while falling down.

Come, let's get lost in those beautiful lies
of eternal youth and enlightened highs.
And quietly listen to the words unexpressed -
unfolding through the psithurism - beatific, blessed.
Let's die together,
at the happiest hour.
And, like this life absurd,
let death also be.
