Your Lost Eyes Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Your Lost Eyes

Heart aching in saddened sorrow that just won't let go, keeping
a mind in tears, wringing them out oh so constantly.

Walking down pathways of what was once begun together, having
said good-bye to one another for laughter has been taken from
us both as you lie in a nursing home.

Nothing left of what you were when we were together, looking now
into your lost eyes, seeing no memories of what we once had done
throughout our married life, now there's only a future with no
more life together, we are both alone.
