Your Heart (Italian Sonnet) Poem by Gert Strydom

Your Heart (Italian Sonnet)

(for Annelize, in answer to Sunita Grover Raina)

Sometimes your heart is a difficult thing
to all of its full depths to comprehend,
to others it has empathy without end.
Your heart can make me cry or of joy sing,

it can praise or heartache easily bring,
its sincerity and joy is never spend,
it does the feelings inside enhance and mend,
its actions can elevate, praise or sting,

to some it pumps blood, to others true love,
to some gives bliss, in mine I do you miss,
while to the core its intricate design does go,
it fits the spirit and soul like a glove,
true and sincere it stays right at the abyss,
its essence and perfection I do know.

Poet's note: I am quoting her lovely love poem right here:

'I LIVE IN BLISS' by Sunita Grover Raina

'Maybe for others it pumps blood
but for me it pumps love
it has spread so deep within me
my veins cannot be found.
Try your best to give me pain
it gets easily drowned.
No tears will show
I taught them so.
Though my eyes
A pair of ponds
I live in bliss
all done by his
blessings are all that counts.
A timid doe if need be so
can cut all evil around.
Not a slightest flinch
In me be seen
well groomed he
me to core.
No questions left me to ask.
In his grace and love I bask.']
