Your Eyes Tell Poem by Paul Sebastian

Your Eyes Tell

Beguiling, tender eyes
Soft yet penetrating
Weathered by past trials
Yet gentle and alluring

Love-worn eyes
Seasoned by countless tears
Tried by realities of life
Been through untold challenges

Smiling, comforting eyes
Warmly capturing hearts
Listening to others' silent cries
Affirming, no matter what

Wide absorbing eyes
Deep well for confidences
Window for sun‘s rays
Doorway for deliverance

Your eyes fathom deep
Like long river me rambling
Through valleys, mountains steep
Waterfalls, rapids your soul's been

Your own eyes bare soul's longing
Drenched, soaked in past tears
Lost, making for a homecoming
Alone, abandoned, stalking fears

Your eyes hope for dawning
For your soul to be free
To fly into an early morning
Stay happy until sunset, for God's glory

Ever so often we forget or ignore non-verbal messages and miss to active listen to what a person feels. We tend to merely listen (hear) to content of words spoken but not active listen to the unspoken feelings. This poem concentrates on the eyes messages.
