Your Doormat Poem by Randy McClave

Your Doormat

The only time that you call
It is when you have taken a great fall,
And whenever you want us to be a we
It's only when that you need me.
You call me whenever you need assistance
Never from me will you find resistance,
So, instead of hearing of your pain or your bawling
I quickly accept your calling.
Whenever that you ask for help in a prayer
You know that I am always spiritually and physically there,
Whenever you need help in any format
I am a lament doormat.

When you knock at my door I will always answer
I don't and I won't treat you like a cancer,
I want to put a smile on your soul and on your face
Which sadness and pain cannot ever erase.
You call me because you know that I will always reply
You know that I do not want tears in your eye,
And I don't want you to feel a pain in your heart
So, I am there from the very start.
For you I will do almost anything
For you my soul is happy and it does sing,
Because, I always believe for me you will do this and that
I am your doormat.

When I had desperately needed you at my side
When tears I have repeatedly cried,
And when I told you of my pain and hardships and my bruises
You were never there, but, you just gave me your excuses.
You had something else that you had to do
Or a heartache again you were going through,
But, remember this I too have been there many times as well
But, I ignored them, so to help you overcome your hell.
On a doormat you clean off the mud off of your feet
I cleaned off your worries and help you feel complete,
Your happiness and joy is the souls truest sum
And as the doormat always says, "WELCOME".
