Your Absence Poem by Alexis Weiermann

Your Absence

Your absence taunts me so.
I hate seeing you go.

Your beautiful smile is gone,
Your gorgeous eyes,
Your cute laugh,
Your presence is all but vanished.

It's as if you never existed to some,
But to me you will forever be here.

You brought me hope,
You brought me joy,
You brought me love,
You brought me sorrow,
You brought me pain,
You brought me life.

But now your absence taunts me so.
It's laughing in my face.
Becuase you had to go.

Your absence should not taunt me,
For I did not love you.
At least that's what I tell myself.
Although I know I loved you on some level,
It was not a level of friendship,
For a little more I believe.

I deny the truth
But only because your absence taunts me so.
