You'Re A Step Away Poem by Alexis Weiermann

You'Re A Step Away

Sis,

As you sit and moan to me about your day,
I think you're just a step away.

I say this out loud,
You ask what I mean,
I say 'You're just a step away,
From learning your lesson of the day.'

You look at me funny,
Like I'm a crazy person who needs help.

But I know the lesson you shall learn.
It's that not all those care,
And drama is simply a mare.

Calm and cool is what it is.
Might seem like a big deal,
But just a small meal.

You eat it slowly to make it last,
But you'll soon realize its all in the past.

Your friends wont last.
They'll leave,
You'll soon realize that they are all in the past.

The good times and laughs,
The cries and fights,
All gone into the past.

You'll learn that they didn't care for you,
But of your presence.
To make them feel wanted.

Like I said,
They wont last.

I don't tell you this because I want to have fun,
Laugh and cry with them.

You can learn it the same way I did.
Just simply easier,
Because I will dropp you hints.

Like I did today:
'You're just a step away,
From learning your lesson of the day.'
