Young At Heart Poem by Francis Duggan

Young At Heart

The clock on his life it keeps ticking away
And he is looking older and looking more gray
And with far more wrinkles than he had last year
Still he likes to sing and he still likes his beer
And he may look his age but he feels young at heart
And from most of his age his attitude places him apart
For he enjoys a good laugh or two every day
Life is what you make of it he often does say,
He has not gone without a cross in his life
Two years ago to cancer he lost his wife
They had been together for some forty years
And he mourned her passing and for her shed tears
But like he says the past it forever has gone
And he will enjoy life and keep keeping on.
