You Wouldn't Know Poem by Laurel Williams

You Wouldn't Know

You wouldn't know by looking at them
or looking through the window,
the part that's missing from 'em.

Not quite orphans, halfway there.
Not married anymore, only single.
Never again to feel a mother's care.
