You Were Not Here Poem by Vera Sidhwa

You Were Not Here

When I needed you,
You abandoned me.
When we were together,
You taunted me.

I felt your anger,
Always aimed at me.
I knew your evil ways,
Destroyed me.

And now you call me everyday,
For me to show mercy in any way.
But mercy I have none at all.
And I endured and stood tall.
