You Tried To Touch Me...... A Choir Poem by ROOP REKHA BHASKAR

You Tried To Touch Me...... A Choir

Rating: 4.6

Psalm 91: Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Every day
You, speak to me. Constantly….
Everyday,
I, pay no heed and fail to know You,
Deafened - in my material greed

Yet, You always
hold me and
Open my eyes
Make me see light
Guide me through the storm
So as....To touch You, to Feel You
To embrace You, hear You
To Praise You and raise You - high.

You help to relieve the pollution
Entangled in selfish endeavors
You forgive yet another time
A second chance to learn the truth and a third….
To touch You to Feel You
To embrace You, hear You
To Praise You and raise You - high.

With the echoed mistakes
And hostile deeds, and destroyed souls.
You never let me go
You are the Superior Energy
Limitless in your forgiveness.
Even with a delusioned soul
You shine Your supreme rays
You are The Everything.
And hold me to Your bosom
To touch You to Feel You
To embrace You, hear You
To Praise You and raise You - high.

You shut Your eyes to my ignorance
And by Your phenomenal grace
Teach me to forgive and learn the truth
And be a part of You.
You held me close
To sense You everywhere
To conceive the abode of noble sacrifice
You are Merciful to the shameless
So as to Make me see light
Guide me through the storm
To Praise You and raise You - high.

You
Raised my doubting face
And saw all my pain in Your eyes.
You stroked my severed hands
And saw the blood flow from your palm
You warmed my limbs
And I saw the streaks on your feet
You covered me with guardian angels in the dark
And I saw the halo on you
So as to Make me see light
Guide me through the storm
So as
To touch You to Feel You
To embrace You, hear You
To Praise You and raise You - high.

And i
Understood …..
You are The Savior
You are the only one
You have a place for me
You want nothing in return
But a prayer

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My friend asked me to write a song so she could sing this in the church Choir. I am not sure if she sang but she sent me a message saying that it brought tears to her eyes and that I had written what exactly what was in her heart. I have deleted the chorus in most places so as to make it short.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Such exalted poetry results from the sublime realization that there is only God and nothing but God and when one is able to feel His presence in everything, everywhere, all the time. Above all, in the end, you also prescribed the one and only means to connect to Him constantly - prayer. Loved your style and the way you developed your message and delivered it. No wonder the Choir rendering moved the audience to tears. (10)

You want nothing in return But a prayer...... True love is such that love of God and love of mother. They don't want anything in return. Very nicely envisioned and aptly presented. A spiritual poem I like most. Many thanks dear Roop Rekha, keep the ball rolling.

And i Understood ….. You are The Savior You are the only one You have a place for me You want nothing in return But a prayer this understanding is very important in life. All that material is does not satisfy us. all sexual and love affairs do not satisfy us. we search always for something lasting, eternal, heavenly. that alone satisfies us ultimately. this is the lesson i received from your poem. it is so fine to see how you engage yourself with the Psalms. thank you Dear Poetess. God bless you.

This is a first rate hymn that can be sung as a devotional song! Man walks away from God... yet like a great father He awaits the return of the prodigal son! He rejoices in our coming back and bestows on us all love and honor, forgiving all our sins! Once we recognize His love.... we will say without a grain of doubt....' Oh Lord, you are my refuge and my fortress'! I am sure your friend must have been mighty pleased, for this serves as as a beautiful hymn for a church choir! A 10
