You Can Rise Again Poem by lulamile kedamile

You Can Rise Again

Life may have hit you a blow
Friends and acquaintances making a mockery of you;
Causing you to shrivel from the very thought of going outside
Imprisoned in your own house by
Psychological fetters of a short fall
But you can rise again

May have been bruised and buttered
By the circumstances of life
Energy slowly oozing from your brain
Just remember that you can rise again

Your knees may wobble and knock
against each other as you gather strength,
eyes blurred with a cataract of defeat
mumbling as you fumble your way to a chair of despair
remember that you can rise again

rise up from the mire of despondence
one step at a time
dream again, again and again
as you do the cataract of defeat will fall off your eyes
your vision will be renewed
cast your vision far ahead of you
to a place of solace
a location of consolation
a position of victory
