You Are No Longer Poem by Bilal Khoukhi

You Are No Longer

Rating: 5.0

You shot me, you almost killed me
Your words penetrated my body
They reached my heart, but no, you didn't break me
I have paid the fee, fully, for my stupidity, I trusted you

You thought you'd have the upper hand
How dare you think you could? you don't understand
I am unbreakable by your likes, passive aggressive
No, I am nothing God-like, I am simple, I am humble

After all you've been through
Where is your compassion?
Trashing and bashing
That's all you know, it is what you do

I am like a sea
Hell, like an ocean, you didn't know me
You haven't tried to dive deep enough
Afraid of drowning? Welcome to join me

I have drowned in what I thought was love
The big lie, I have always dreamed of
it was merely a stray
It was nothing but shit, covered with glitter and glow

I still loved you though
Learned from my mistake and now I know
You gave up on our first tiny tidal wave
But I gotta say, that was a clever save

You pushed me away, made it my problem
Because you're innocent, here's my two cents
You're not. Period. I moved on to never love again
Finally realized you didn't give a shit even back then
