You Are Great I Honor You Poem by cebolenkosi kubheka

You Are Great I Honor You

I saw you at your best
which is why at your worst
I pretend I don't see you,
I do this because at the back
of my mind I have memories
of you at your best.
Pick yourself up and rise
from the dust for so you don't belong there
stand up you've been down for so long
It's about time you remind
them how tall you are
Take a stand one more time
and walk tall
For so you were once above us all
I believe the you I'm talking about
is still somewhere within you
please unleash her one more time
RISE! RISE! for so you were once so high
I miss seeing you in that place
Rise and reclaim your glory one more time
We used to bow before you
You had everything
You had the stars at your feet
You used to walk among the clouds
You were so high above
we used to strain our necks
trying to look at you
But now we need microscopes
in order to search for you
among the dust particles
You don't belong there
It's not too late, please
RISE! RISE!
You don't have royal blood flowing
within you,
But, you are so high your highness
I was once your servant
now I miss serving under you
You were born to walk under the spotlight
please! seek the spotlight one more time
You are destined for greatness
Remember the magnitude of your value
Please! rise
Even now, I bow before you
Let your enemies scream and celebrate
Your downfall, however, they like
Yet! Your history speaks for itself
For once I thought you were not human...
Then you made a common mistake
Then I remembered you
You have flesh, blood and soul
just like me, mistakes-
are a part of life.
Please learn from this
Now I command you!
RISE! RISE!
You are great I honor you
Indeed, you are honorable
