You And The World Today Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

You And The World Today

Rating: 3.5

An element, a part
A wisher, a crier, a screamer
A composer, a singer a lover
A producer, a teacher, a doctor......
What not
All you are
The world needs you
And you need this world
You don't belong to UFO class
Nor to any animal species
You are human being
You are divine
After death your bone may speak even
You walk
You shout
You laugh
You sneeze
You cough
But where is your smile?
You need muscles of your face
Where cheeks sprout to give this world a smile
And smile needs you to smile
Flower has so much nectar
To share and bees go rounds
From flower to flower to get their fill
And plants world with pollen they fill
And grasses so small are not behind
They along with wind
Go out to make this world green and flowery
And where are you?
You are steadily shrinking into the dimple of an evil
For the WHO says don't step out of your home without veil
And with your sneeze and cough there is a devil
And you may soon be a devil
There is a wish of the world
That it trades with you, the boney face and the dead
And sits on the top of your money
And laughs aloud and says, you tiny
Bug you don't have any place in this world
Unless and until you are astute enough to unmask this masked world
