You And I Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

You And I

If I look in the mermaid tunnel will I find you?
some love is only the perfume of fables
Reality must subside like tides of sun
Sacredness is very personal

Grains of sand laboring in your beasts
earth is busy with language of purpose
my purpose is to love your mystical glow
words are the winter snows turning to rain

Vagrant child of sorrow forgetting her wounds
they are never far away or really silent
we need the sea to counsel us
shall we hold one another again forever

Flames like clematis purple joy
kittens of spring
clouds as gentle as the warm womb
Sanctuary is apart of loves embrace

Embrace me my abandoned child
I am the ostracized grave
revive me and I will grow
have you come with flowers of light?

Heavy wings cannot soar
dignity like a lake in Scotland
her loneliness runs like a river
we are not evil we are hurt

You and I understand
