There is something wondrous,
almost invisible to the eye,
in the sudden rejoicing of the
avenue trees -
straightening up, shaking the summer's
steamy burden off their necks -
as YOU walk by,
instantly overflowing with happiness,
being as happy as Green can be.
It resembles, in my mind, to a short
flickering phase of autumn - out of its
season
to the magical dance of a light-winged
butterfly, crossing our day,
which no one had seen but me.
How-
in the midst of a hardship day,
when my thoughts were holding despair -
YOU walked by
and a bird, forgotten by heart,
suddenly unfolded its wings
and flew up to the skies
